3 Grade Math Videos

It can be challenging to learn certain Math subjects using only traditional pen and paper methods.

These Math videos offer a range of teaching techniques, starting with basic concepts and progressing to more advanced, hands-on activities.

Bonds of 10 - Friends of 10

The newmero bricks fit together like a puzzle if their sum is 10. If the numbers on the bricks don't add up to 10, they won't fit.

Bonds of 100 - Friends of 100

The Newmero bricks will only fit together if the child arranges the Friends of 100 correctly. If the numbers are not arranged correctly, the bricks will not fit together like a puzzle.

Addition - Build and Animal

Create a fun animal with the numbered bricks and add the numbers. By adding the numbers to find how much the animal weighs in total.

Addition up to 3 digits

In this exercise, called "Slicing the Numbers," you will calculate the sum of different coloured bricks by slicing the stacks and performing the addition one colour at a time. Begin by adding the yellow bricks (ones), then the green bricks (tens), and finally the blue bricks (hundreds). Keep slicing until there is at most one brick of each colour remaining.

Addition of 2 digit numbers

This is a fun math game called "Boiled the Numbers" to train the addition of numbers.

The children may not understand how they found out the total, but it gives them self-confidence that they are able to count big numbers.

Subtraction with 2 digits

Subtraction can be a difficult concept for children to grasp.
However, the use of newmero bricks can simplify the exercise and make it more hands-on.
To subtract, you can start by taking off the one’s place and then stack the yellow newmero bricks to represent the remaining number.

The answer can be found by counting the extra knob on top of the bricks. Similarly, you can use the green bricks to represent the tens place and repeat the same process.

Subtraction with 2 digits - Tens

You stack the numbered bricks together and count the overlap of counting knobs at the top of the bricks.

Subtraction with 2 digits

Learn subtraction through hands-on activities.

Place Value with 2 digits

It is easier to understand the numbers when you can build and decompose the numbers.

The green bricks are Tens.

The yellow bricks are Ones.

Place Value with 3 digits

The blue bricks are Hundreds, Green bricks are Tens and Yellow bricks are One's.

A fun way to learn the Place Value and stack the numbers.

Permutation - 3 digit Place Value

Permutation is the process of building different numbers using 2, 4, and 7.

This fun activity demonstrates the magic of numbers.

These three digits can be arranged in six unique ways.
